China Raises Individual Income Tax Threshold for 2011

On 30 June 2011, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress adopted the Sixth Amendment to the Individual Income Tax Law which, among other things, increases the monthly income tax exemption from 2,000 yuan to 3,500 yuan.

The amended Individual Income Tax Law will take effect on 1 September this year.
