Hong Kong - Change in Minimum Level of Relevant Income for MPF from 1 November 2011

As of 1 November 2011, the minimum level of relevant income for MPF contributions has increased to $6,500, from the original level of $5,000.

For the contribution periods (wage periods in general) starting on or after 1 November 2011, employees with a monthly relevant income of less than $6,500 will no longer be required to make the employees' part of contributions, but their employers will still be required to make the employers' part of contributions.
