Effective from 1st May, 2019

Statutory Minimum Wage (Hourly) increased from $34.5 to $37.5, with effect from 1 May 2019.

 

The Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) rate will be raised to $37.5 per hour with effect from 1 May 2019. If 1 May 2019 falls within a wage period, the SMW rate of $37.5 will only apply to any hour worked on or after 1 May 2019 in calculating minimum wage for that wage period. The monetary cap on the requirement of employers recording the total number of hours worked by employees will also be revised to $15,300 per month with effect from 1 May 2019.
