Replacement days off must be given if an employee is asked to work on public holidays. The Malaysia Employment Act has 8 leave days as the minimum for the first 2 years of employment with a single employer. This increases to a minimum of 12 leave days for 2 to 5 years of employment and 16 leave days for 5 or more years of employment.
